The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs and black-and-white line drawings from the Apollo space program and colour photographs ( as well as black-and-white ] from the making of the movie Apollo 13. Photographic front cover, showing a picture of the earth as seen from the moon with a small Apollo shuttle and superimposed upon that it photographs of the actor, Tom Hanks. Gray and white writing to the front panel and white to the spine. A little rubbing and creasing to the book corners and rubbing to the book edges. The remains of a sticker can be seen to the top right-hand corner of the front panel. There has been a triangular crease to the lower left hand corner of the back panel. In 1970 the Apollo 13 mission to the moon nearly ended in catastrophe when an explosion rocked the spacecraft. With ingenuity and courage the three astronauts made it safely back to earth in the lunar module. This book celebrates not only this momentous event but the entire Apollo space program from Apollo 1 in 1967 through to Apollo 17 in 1972.
