The colour dust wrapper is slightly faded on the spine, with a scratch mark at the top of the spine section, and does not have a price printed on the front fold over flat. There is no damage to describe of the book or its binding. There are a number of illustrations, including the first map of the law of the rings, with redrawn maps, and a reproduction of a page of the sketch plan of the scene of the breaking of the fellowship. This is the seventh volume of the history of middle earth, and a chief feature of the book is a full account of the original Map, with three drawings of successive phases, which was long the basis and a compliment of the emerging geography of Middle-earth. An appendix to the book describes the alphabets as they were at that time, with illustrations of the forms and analysis of the Runes found besides Balin's tomb in Moria Size: 23cm. 504 pages.
