Also included are Census of plants of Victoria supplement number 4 (eight pages stapled) and Census of the plants of Victoria supplement number 1 (1929) two second edition (1928) four pages. In the publication of the second edition an attempt is made to bring the Census up-to-date as regards and additions and omissions, nomenclature and regional distribution. Brown coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A small book of botany for schools from the late 19th century. This particular edition has been revised and updated, by the author, as botanical knowledge increased and expanded. Part of Blackie's Science Text-Books series. The book is showing age and use. Softening, rubbing and fraying to the backstrip edges and to the book corners, which all shows show quite heavy bumping. The cloth has become faded on the front edges of the front and rear panels – due to contact with moisture. The rest of the book shows relatively little damage, except for the obligatory coffee cup ring on the rear panel. The textblock edges are quite brown with the occasional foxing spot, though the internal pages are lighter in browning. The free front end paper is missing and a previous owner has made some notations in black lead pencil to the rear end paper. Previous owners ex libris plate attached to the verso of the front panel, along with same owner's rubber stamp to the top edge of the page following where the free front end paper would be. Then, on the verso of that page and the top edge of the title page. Another owner's name has been placed. The first few and lastly pages of the book are slightly foxed in and there is scattered foxing throughout. Some small pencil marks throughout. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
