Illustrated frontispiece, being a coloured foldout illustration the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. The text is illustrated with 53 coloured plates of Michelangelo's work and a few black-and-white illustrations. Tan coloured boards with gilt " signature " of Michelangelo on the front panel and gilt writing on the spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and shelf wear to both the top and bottom book edges. Foxing is noted to the top book edge, and a few marks to the book panels and the spine is very slightly cocked. Photographic dustwrapper, showing a piece of Michelangelo statuary on the front panel and a reproduction of a panel of the Sistine Chapel on the rear panel. White and black writing on the front panel and black on the spine. A book on one of the greatest, acknowledged both in his time and our time, Renaissance artists -- Michelangelo. a Rather clean copy of a standard work, there is no damage to describe, apart from offset tanning of the front and rear endpapers.
