X, 206 pages, indexed, and profusely illustrated with part and full page black-and-white photographs. In original hardcover binding, which is slightly bumped at the top right-hand side of the front panel, and with a photographic dustjacket. The dustjacket has numerous short tears across the top and bottom edges and rubbing and slight chipping. Bright blue coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Rubbing and discolouration to the book edges and there is quite noticeable browning to the textblock edges and internal text. Colour photographic dustwrapper with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges. There are a few tears to the top dustwrapper edge, with dissociated creasing. There is a 3 inch tear to the top left-hand corner of the front dustwrapper panel. Shane Gould was a swimming phenomena. At the age of 15 she was an Olympic champion in various disciplines. This book is by her mother and not only gives a small potted history of Shane, but also a frame by frame (on both dry land and in the water) on how she swam. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall.
