Between Life and Economics: Boyer Lectures, 1990
Fitzgerald,Tom,
ISBN: 0733300758
Australian Broadcasting Commission, Sydney, 1990. First Edition
Softcover Softcover. Very Good Condition/. First Edition. author's note and notes and references. Illustrated card cover with black, white and aqua coloured titles to the front panel and black and at what coloured titles to the back strip. "At the start of his I990 Boyer Lectures Tom Fitzgerald says, When I was invited to give these talks, choosing my own subject, I thought at first of trying to place economics in the wider world of my experiences and relations with people. But the present state of economics itself, a state of disarray and disillusionment among some of the best thinkers, and the extraordinary condition of the Australian economy have finally absorbed me. Whether rightly or not, I feel there is a dissenting case to be put against the prevailing climate of opinion among the policy makers. And put a powerfully dissenting case he does, analysing and admonishing with an authority born of knowledge, experience and conviction, consolidated during more than forty years of a distinguished career. He takes his argument further in the printed text with the addition of extensive notes and references." -- from the rear panel blurb.
