The text is illustrated with numerous coloured photographs. Photographic covers, showing a dress from designer Peggy Z with pink writing on the front panel and spine. A little rubbing to the book edges and scuffing to the book corners. There has been quite noticeable rubbing and the dulling of the book laminates. In 1982 the question was asked of the designers of the day as to what fashion would be like in 2001. This book is the response to that question. Designers include; Versace, Kenzo, Valentino, Fendi etc. In total 100 individual designers or design houses are represented. This is the first UK edition. Size: Folio (over 12" tall ). The text is illustrated with numerous coloured photographs and black-and-white illustrations. Purple coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine. The extreme edges of the cloth have become somewhat faded and there is a little rubbing to the top and bottom book edges. Some dust marks to the top paper edge and previous owner's name to the top edge of the free front endpaper. Photographic dustwrapper, showing a dress designed by Peggy Z, with pink writing on the front panel and spine. Creasing and rubbing to both the top and bottom dustwrapper edges and there has been a little chipping, with lost to the lower spine edge. Rubbing to the dustwrapper edges as well. Some rubbing and fading of the book panels has also occurred. There is a puncture mark 6 "from the lower dustwrapper edge on the back panel. Black-and-white illustrated frontispiece showing a young woman using a very early telephone. The text is illustrated with copious black-and-white photographs, cartoons, illustrations and the occasional line drawing. Also included is the very occasional colour photograph or illustration. Beige coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with red and black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A look at the history of Ladies' Home Journal, from its inception in the late 19th century up to time of printing the book. It looks at society, fashion, people, travel, world events and mores (and the changes of same) over the history of the magazine. What is of interest is the changing fashions, with quite an amazing illustrations, through the years, including some designs by Christian Dior, Chanel and other couturiers. Rubbing to the backstrip edges, book corners and lower book edges. Age toning of the textblock edges with original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down.
