He accepted a call to the pastorate of the Moonah Baptist Church in Tasmania. Ministries at Maryborough (Queensland), Lithgow (NSW) and Pymble (NSW) followed. When he retired he was appointed as honorary Chaplain at "Bethel", a nursing home for elderly ladies sponsored by the Ashfield Baptist Church. He continued this work until a few weeks before his death at the age of 81 years.
