At the beginning of the text there is a black-and-white illustration of Simenon Lord, and at the beginning of each chapter there is an illustration of an old fashion globe of the world. At the rear of the book is a photograph of Simenon Lord's gravestone and an illustration of Lord's Mill, Botany. Illustrated paperback binding with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. This is a biographical novel about Simenon Lord, born in England in 1771, but, at the age of 19 came to the colony of New South Wales and became a prominent figure in the mercantile world of the new colony; he was a pioneer in manufacturing and a shipbuilder. He died in 1840 at the age of 69. Creasing of the book corners with rubbing of the book edges, and, very noticeable rubbing of the book panels. Age toning of the text block edges with previous owners name to the top right-hand corner of the free front end page. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. 174, last page blank, pages,.
