With skill the scholarship and sympathy, he traces the history of the Jews from antiquity to the present time and points out the stage at which Zionism was first born, and how it has developed from its original conception and become a political party rather than a truly national movement. But against this detailed study of the Zionism and its implication the author balances the Arab case in Palestine. He traces the unhappy history of Palestine and the Arab reaction to the establishment of political Zionism there.
