In May 1941 Hitler's deputy Rudolf Hess crashed his plane in Scotland. For 50 years the official line has been that Hess's mission to Scotland/England was a solitary adventure of a madman. But the author, using KGB files that the first time, along with other documentation puts a different slant on his landing in Scotland -- that of an envoy and full knowledge of Hitler bearing a peace offer. Hess came with connivance of high placed English officials.
