Includes collecting localities, further reading list, index. Illustrated dust jacket. Aside from the owner's name on the front endpage, and offset tanning of both front and rear endpages, booking itself is in very good order. The dust jacket has a 1.0 inch tear with associated chipping at the top left-hand corner of the front panel, and is missing approximately 3 inches by half an inch of the bottom edge of the rear panel. A history of great collectors and their discoveries is outlined at the beginning, before Mr Casanova goes on to explain what exactly a fossil is and how it is formed, carefully classifying the various types of fossils and giving detailed accounts of the main groups. -- front fold over blurb Biology
